Maeva Squiban delivered a sensational solo win on Stage 6 of the 2025 Tour de France Femmes, securing UAE Team ADQ‘s first-ever stage victory in the prestigious French race.
The 23-year-old French rider from Brest launched a bold solo attack with 34 km to go on the challenging 123.7 km stage from Clermont-Ferrand to Ambert. Her effort opened up a gap of up to 1 minute and 30 seconds, and despite a fierce chase by the yellow jersey group, Squiban held her ground with remarkable strength and determination to fulfill her dream.
Her brave ride also earned her the Combativity Award for the day – her second of this Tour after Stage 2 – recognizing her fighting spirit and aggressive racing style.
It was a memorable day for UAE Team ADQ, with Dominika Wlodarczyk finishing fifth in the select group behind, and Brodie Chapman once again animating the stage with a long breakaway.

After the finish, an emotional Maeva Squiban said: “This morning I woke up with good feelings, even though I had a strange dream and didn’t sleep much. Usually, when I have a night like that, I feel ready to fight. I knew I could try something. Last year I came close, finishing second in a stage – that already felt like a dream. But winning today is something truly incredible. After the finish, I had no words – it was such a beautiful feeling. Since day one, we’ve been fully focused on this race. We had some tough moments early on with a few health issues in the team, but we never gave up. Today was our day. I’m so happy – for myself, for the team, the staff, and our sponsors. We deserved this.”
Tomorrow’s Stage 7 will take the peloton from Bourg-en-Bresse to Chambéry over 159.7 km.
