UAE Development Team claimed an excellent second place in the 5.1 km team time trial in Viareggio, which today opened the Premondiale Giro Toscana Internazionale Femminile.
Alena Amialiusik, Fee Knaven, Hannah Kunz, Francesca Pellegrini, and Eilidh Shaw set the fastest time for much of the day, before eventually being overtaken by the Liv AlUla Jayco Women’s Continental Team by just 7 seconds.
Alena Amialiusik wore the green jersey as leader of the QOM classification on the podium.
Tomorrow the race continues with Stage 2, 115.6 km from Serravalle Pistoiese to Quarrata.
