From Sunday, May 3 to Saturday, May 9, UAE Team ADQ will take on the first Grand Tour of the season: La Vuelta España Femenina. Seven stages, a total of 815 kilometers, and nearly 15,000 meters of elevation gain on what promises to be the toughest route in the race’s history.
The race will start and spend its opening days in Galicia, Spain’s northwestern region, along the Atlantic coast and in the renowned Santiago de Compostela area. For UAE Team ADQ’s seven riders, this Vuelta will also be a true camino – a stage-by-stage journey filled with emotions every day.
Fans will be able to follow this journey on the team’s social channels through the #LaLuzDeEspana campaign, which will take audiences behind the scenes of the race while showcasing the landscapes, culture, and unique locations crossed along the route.
After a series of hilly stages in Galicia, La Vuelta Femenina 2026 will move to Castilla y León for Stage 5, which on paper looks like the best opportunity for the fastest riders in the peloton.
The battle for the coveted Red Jersey will then be decided in the mountains of Asturias, featuring two of the most feared climbs from the men’s Vuelta.
Stage 6 will finish atop the 4 km climb to Les Praeres, where gradients average around 13% and ramp up to a brutal 27%.
The final day will see the riders tackle the legendary Alto de l’Angliru: a 12.4 km ascent averaging 9.7%, with terrifying ramps reaching 23%.
