Dominika Włodarczyk Completes Polish National Championships Double with Road Race Victory

Just two days after claiming the Polish National Individual Time Trial title, Dominika Włodarczyk added the Elite Women’s Road Race crown to complete a magnificent double at the Polish National Championships.

The 120.7-kilometre race, starting and finishing in Lubawa, was contested in scorching temperatures and featured aggressive racing from the very beginning. Włodarczyk was first part of the select lead group that broke clear of the peloton before launching another decisive move alongside Marta Lach (Team SD Worx–Protime) and Agnieszka Skalniak-Sójka (Canyon//SRAM).

With just over 28 kilometres remaining, the UAE Team ADQ rider made her winning attack. Riding clear on her own, Włodarczyk steadily extended her advantage over the chasing riders before crossing the finish line solo to reclaim the Polish national road race title, having previously won the championship in 2024.

To celebrate her victory, she raised her Colnago bike above her head as she crossed the finish line, capping off a memorable performance and an outstanding week at the National Championships.

Dominika Włodarczyk said: “It definitely wasn’t an easy race to control today. I was on my own against several Continental teams with many riders, so I knew it was going to be a challenging race. At the same time, I felt I had really good legs before the start, which gave me confidence. I stayed calm and focused throughout the race, with one goal in mind: to give everything I had and finish with no regrets.

After around 40 kilometres, I made my first attack to see how the other riders would react and to understand where everyone’s strengths were. The final part of the course was constantly up and down – this part of Poland is full of rolling hills – so I decided to launch a solo attack. Fortunately, it worked, and I was able to hold on all the way to the finish.

I’m really happy. This title means a lot to me, and I’m incredibly proud to wear the Polish national champion’s white-and-red jersey with the eagle on it for another year. Winning the National Championships is always special, but doing it with my family there to support me makes this moment even more meaningful.

I’d like to thank everyone who played a part in this success. It’s a very positive sign ahead of the Tour de France Femmes and the next big goals of the season.”

Also today, there were two fourth-place finishes in the road races: one in Spain with Mavi Garcia and one in France with Maeva Squiban.
