Eilidh Shaw on the Attack in the Final Stage of Baloise Ladies Tour

The 2024 edition of the Baloise Ladies Tour came to a close today with the final stage starting and finishing in Zwevegem, over a distance of 127.3 kilometers. UAE Development Team rider Eilidh Shaw animated the race with a strong performance in the breakaway.

The Scottish rider launched an attack with three other riders with around 80 kilometers to go, and the group managed to stay off the front for several kilometers. As the race progressed, additional riders bridged across to the lead group, but the peloton eventually regrouped in the final kilometers.

The stage ended in a bunch sprint, with Martina Fidanza (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) taking the win. The overall classification was secured by Zoe Backstedt (CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto), who claimed the general title after consistent performances throughout the race.

It was a promising and aggressive display by Eilidh Shaw, showcasing the fighting spirit and potential of the UAE Development Team.
