UAE Development Team once again in the spotlight at the final stage of the Giro Toscana Internazionale Femminile, with Alena Amialiusik finishing second on the day and Francesca Pellegrini taking fifth place.
Amialiusik also secured second place in the General Classification.
Speaking after the race, Alena Amialiusik said: “I really enjoyed this race because riding with the young riders of the UAE Development Team gives me great satisfaction. I like being able to help them and teach them something, and I hope they felt the same way with me. We truly have talented riders, and over these days in Tuscany we raced well together. Today I had the chance to go for a personal opportunity by attacking on the final climb, but I couldn’t reach the finish line solo as I wanted. Still, I didn’t give up until the very end, trying to win the stage. I’m happy anyway.”
Across the four stages of the Giro Toscana Femminile, the team delivered consistent performances: a second place in the opening team time trial, several leader’s jerseys worn during the race by Hannah Kunz and Eilidh Shaw, and another near victory today with Amialiusik. Overall, a very positive set of results for the entire team.
