Second race of the weekend in France for UAE Development Team, in action today at the Grand Prix du Morbihan Femmes.
The race covered 83.9 kilometres, starting and finishing in Plumelec, on a demanding course made even tougher by rainy conditions. Despite the challenging weather, the team delivered another solid performance and stayed in contention throughout the key phases of the race.
In the finale, on the rolling Breton roads, a reduced lead group emerged with Abigail Miller and Federica Venturelli once again among the strongest riders.
Several attacks were launched in the closing kilometres, but all were brought back before the final uphill ramp, where Eline Jansen (VolkerWessels Cycling Team) powered to victory ahead of Sidney Swierenga (Liv AlUla Jayco Women’s Continental Team) and Émilie Morier (St Michel – Preference Home – Auber93).
Another double top-10 result for UAE Development Team, with Abigail Miller finishing eighth and Federica Venturelli tenth. It was another encouraging performance from the young Italian rider, who continues to show positive signs in her return to racing after a long period away from competition.
