UAE Development Team is pleased to announce that Magdalena Leis will join the team for the upcoming season. With her arrival, the team’s roster is now complete, counting eleven riders.
Born and living in Kaiserslautern-Dansenberg, Germany, Leis discovered cycling through her studies, taking her first steps on the bike while attending a sports school. What started as a test training session soon turned into a true passion, setting her on a path of steady growth.
Among the highlights of her young career, Magdalena points to her second place in the Individual Time Trial at the Junior European Championships last season, a result that marked a strong comeback after a challenging start to the year.
“I have always followed the team’s progress over the last few years and dreamed of being part of it,” Leis explained. “Having such a successful WorldTour team close to the Development Team and the opportunity to learn from them is incredibly inspiring. I believe the UAE Development Team is one of the best environments to grow and develop as a professional cyclist.”
A versatile rider, Leis enjoys challenging and technical races, prefers courses with rolling terrain and selective climbs, and has a particular passion for time trials.
Looking ahead, her main objectives are focused on growth and learning: “My goal is to gain as much experience as possible, help the team in every situation, and develop into a better rider.” Over the coming years, she aims to improve her positioning in the peloton, sharpen her sprint skills, and continue progressing in time trials.
The German rider Magdalena Leis has signed a one-year contract with the UAE Development Team.
UAE Team ADQ President Melissa Moncada said: “We are adding another talented rider to our Development Team and we are very happy to have Magdalena with us. She is a girl with excellent qualities who has already had the opportunity to train with the team during the two winter training camps and we are confident that we can help her grow and continue on her path.”
