Rinata Sultanova also celebrated a magnificent double at the Kazakh National Championships.
After winning the individual time trial title earlier this week, the UAE Development Team rider added the Elite Women’s road race crown with an impressive solo victory.
The 140-kilometre race, starting and finishing in Shchuchinsk, was hard-fought and selective from the outset. The decisive move came in the closing kilometres when Sultanova launched a solo attack, dropping the final two riders who had remained with her. She maintained her advantage all the way to the finish line to secure her second national title of the week. Yelizaveta Sklyarova (ODL Team – Kiwi Atlantico – Craega) and Violetta Kazakova (XDS China Women’s Team) finished second and third respectively.
It marks Sultanova’s third Elite national road race title, following her victories in 2022 and 2024. The success adds to her three national individual time trial titles and her second Asian individual time trial championship, which she claimed earlier this season.
Rinata Sultanova said: “It was a tough and demanding race. With about ten kilometres to go, I felt it was the right moment to launch a solo attack. I managed to drop the two riders who were still with me and held my advantage all the way to the finish to reclaim the national title. I’d like to thank everyone who has been involved in my preparation for this important goal and who continues to support me ahead of the next major objectives of the season.”
