Rinata Sultanova has claimed the Kazakh Elite Women’s National Time Trial title for the third time in her career.
It is another outstanding achievement for the 28-year-old rider from the UAE Development Team, who earlier this season was also crowned Asian Time Trial Champion.
The championship race took place in Shchuchinsk, in the Akmola Region, where Sultanova once again proved herself to be the leading time trial specialist in her country. She covered the 25-kilometre Elite Women’s course in a winning time of 32:57, finishing more than two and a half minutes ahead of Osym Akpeil, who took second place in 35:32. Faina Potapova completed the podium in third with a time of 35:54.
Following her victory, Rinata Sultanova said: “I am very happy to become National Time Trial Champion once again. It is always a great honour to wear the colours of my country and represent Kazakhstan in competition. Now I am looking forward to the road race and seeing what I can achieve there as well.”
