Tour de France Femmes – Stage 3 Recap

It was a long and intense day at the Tour de France Femmes, with Stage 3 taking the riders on a 163.5 km route from La Gacilly to Angers.

Unfortunately, the headline of the day for UAE Team ADQ was the withdrawal of Elisa Longo Borghini due to a gastrointestinal infection that forced her to abandon the race this morning.

It was a tough stage, with our riders gritting their teeth to stay connected to the main bunch, which managed to close the gap to the breakaway in the final part of the race.

A crash with just over four kilometers to go split the peloton in two. Dominika Wlodarczyk was involved but fortunately escaped unscathed, while Eleonora Gasparrini was also forced to stop briefly.

In the bunch sprint, Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Worx – Protime) claimed victory ahead of Marianne Vos (Team Visma | Lease a Bike), who reclaimed the Yellow Jersey.

Tomorrow’s Stage 4 will run from Saumur to Poitiers over a distance of 130.7 km.
