UAE Development Team welcomes young British talent Abigail Miller

UAE Development Team is proud to announce the signing of Abigail Miller, one of the most promising young riders from Great Britain. The 18-year-old from York will join the Emirati team on a two-year contract, continuing her path of growth and development in the world of professional cycling.

Miller discovered her passion for cycling in 2014, when the Tour de France passed through her home region of Yorkshire. “I remember going to watch it with my brother, and that’s what got us into cycling. He started first, and after getting bored of just watching, I decided to give it a go myself – and I loved it from there!” she recalls.

In her U19 career, Miller has already achieved remarkable results on both road and track. Among her highlights are victory in Stage 1 of the Tour du Gevaudan, 4th place at Tour of Flanders Junior, and 3rd overall at Watersley Ladies Challenge. On the track, she has shined with the British national team, winning the Team Pursuit at both the European and World Championships, breaking the world record twice.

“I knew that UAE Development Team was the right place for me to make the step up from junior racing,” says Miller. “I wanted to join a team where I could learn and grow in the right environment, with the guidance and support I need to take this next step. I can’t wait to develop within this team alongside many inspiring female cyclists.”

Describing herself as an all-rounder, Miller is eager to discover her true strengths as she transitions into the elite ranks. “I can time trial, climb, and have a decent sprint. Junior racing doesn’t always show where your real strengths are, so stepping up next year will be exciting to see where I can really shine,” she explains.

Looking ahead to the 2026 season, the young Briton is motivated to balance her studies with her first experiences at the highest level of cycling. “My goals are to become a stronger rider both on and off the bike, to find my role within the team, and contribute to our successes. I also want to improve my race craft, tactics, and technical skills to grow into a complete rider.”

With her ambition and talent, Abigail Miller represents a valuable addition to the UAE Development Team project, confirming the team’s mission to nurture the next generation of female cycling stars.

Melissa Moncada, President of UAE Team ADQ, said: “Abigail Miller has proven to be one of the best talents at a global level, and we are delighted that she has chosen our team to continue her journey in professional cycling. The team will support her to further improve and find her place in top-level cycling.”
