It was an action-packed day at the Volta NXT Classic, held over 118.4 km from Eijsden to Eijsden, with the peloton splitting repeatedly on each lap due to high pace and aggressive racing. Despite the constant attacks, everything eventually came back together for a bunch sprint.
Unfortunately, UAE Development Team’s designated sprinter for the day, Francesca Pellegrini, was involved in a crash, leaving her unable to contest the sprint. Paula Blasi stepped up and crossed the line in 7th place, delivering a strong performance in a chaotic finale.
Victory on the day went to Femke Gerritse of the Dutch National Team.
