Blasi Sprints to Top-10 at Vanguard Women’s One-Day Race

The Australian campaign continues positively for UAE Team ADQ, with Paula Blasi securing a solid eighth place in the sprint finish of the Vanguard Women’s One-Day Race (1.Pro).

The race took place on a 94.2 km circuit course featuring 12 local laps, with both the start and finish located in Tanunda. From the opening kilometers, the pace was high and the race animated by a series of attacks that kept the peloton under constant pressure.

UAE Team ADQ riders were particularly active throughout the day. Mavi Garcia showed her experience by staying alert during the key phases of the race, while Dominika Włodarczyk was especially prominent, repeatedly positioning herself at the front of the peloton and reacting to several attacking moves.

The final decisive moment came when the last long solo attack, launched by Alessia Vigilia (Uno-X), was neutralized just over four kilometers from the finish. At that point, the teams began to organize for the sprint.

The closing kilometers were marked by several crashes, which fortunately did not involve any UAE Team ADQ riders. In the lead-out, Włodarczyk delivered Blasi into a good position, allowing the young Spanish rider to contest the sprint and secure a top-10 result, confirming her consistency and speed.

The victory went to Maggie Coles-Lyster (Human Powered Health), while UAE Team ADQ leaves the race with encouraging signals as the Australian block continues.

At the end of the day, Paula Blasi also won the MyWhoosh Classification reserved for the best young rider in the race.
