EuroTrack26: Venturelli bronze medal in the Team Pursuit in Konya

Another medal has been added to the personal collection of Federica Venturelli, the latest achievement in a career that is still young but already rich in success, both on the track and on the road.

While awaiting her season debut on the road with UAE Team ADQ, the Italian rider is currently competing with the Italian National Team at the UEC Track European Championships in Konya, Turkey.

This evening, Venturelli claimed the bronze medal in the Women’s Team Pursuit, racing alongside Elisa Balsamo, Letizia Paternoster and Linda Sanarini as part of the Italian quartet.

The Italian team were among the protagonists from the very beginning of the competition. In the qualifying round, they once again lowered the Italian national record, stopping the clock at 4:06.796. Their path was halted only by Great Britain, who went on to win the European title and, on the same day, improved the world record twice.

Federica Venturelli said: “I’m really happy with this podium finish. If someone had told us a few weeks ago that we would end up on the podium, I wouldn’t have believed it. I’m very surprised by how fast we went. I was the only one wearing the world champion’s jersey, it was a completely new quartet, and I’m extremely happy to have been able to bring home another medal.”

In the same event, an eighth-place finish was recorded by the Netherlands, with Sofie van Rooijen.
