The Tour of Chongming Island came to an end today in China with the third and final stage. It was another solid performance from UAE Team ADQ, highlighted by Karlijn Swinkels, who finished fourth after a reduced sprint among a small group that broke clear in the final kilometers. The stage victory went to Josie Talbot (Liv AlUla Jayco).
Despite being involved in a crash during the sprint, Sofie van Rooijen narrowly missed the overall victory, finishing second in the General Classification, just one second behind her compatriot Anne Knijnenburg (VolkerWessels Cycling Team). Van Rooijen’s consistency throughout the race earned her the green jersey as the winner of the Points Classification.
Swinkels also completed a strong race, placing sixth overall in the final General Classification, further underlining UAE Team ADQ’s depth and collective effort throughout the three days of competition.
