UAE Team ADQ riders were once again among the protagonists at the Vuelta a Extremadura Femenina.
Stage 2, a lively 132.8 km route from Pueblonuevo del Guadiana to Fuente del Maestre, was marked by aggressive racing from the start. A long solo breakaway animated much of the stage before being caught with just 10 kilometres to go, when the teams of the fastest riders in the peloton moved to the front to set up a sprint finish.
Although UAE Team ADQ did not line up with pure sprinters for this race, the team executed its race plan perfectly, especially on the technical and twisting finale.
In the end, the stage victory went to Italian rider Chiara Consonni (Canyon–SRAM Racing). UAE Team ADQ still delivered an excellent result, with Maeva Squiban finishing fourth and Brodie Chapman taking fifth place.
Thanks to these performances, Chapman retains second place overall and Squiban remains third in the general classification ahead of tomorrow’s decisive final stage. Squiban was involved also in a crash. Chapman wear also tomorro the Green Points Classification Jersey.
