Challenging Day at Tour de Romandie, Blasi Keeps White

It was a tough day in the mountains at the Tour de Romandie Féminin, with the peloton tackling the demanding second stage from Conthey to La Tzoumaz over 123.2 kilometers.

Our riders showed great teamwork and resilience, with Paula Blasi finishing 6th and Erica Magnaldi 10th. Blasi lost the yellow jersey, slipping to 4th place in the General Classification, but she continues to wear the white jersey as Best Young Rider.

The team worked cohesively around the race leader’s jersey until the start of the final long ascent, when the best climbers in the group came to the fore. Blasi managed to stay with the leaders for as long as possible, supported strongly by Magnaldi, before settling into her own rhythm to defend her position.

The stage was won by local rider Elise Chabbey (FDJ–Suez), ahead of Urška Žigart (AG Insurance–Soudal Team), who is now the new overall leader of the race.

Tomorrow the Tour concludes with the third and final stage: 122.1 kilometers on the challenging circuit around Aigle.
