Elisa Longo Borghini Takes Third on Picón Blanco Summit Finish in Burgos

Elisa Longo Borghini delivered a strong performance on Stage 3 of the Vuelta a Burgos Feminas, finishing third atop the demanding summit of Picón Blanco. The Italian champion crossed the line 1:17 behind stage winner Marlen Reusser (Movistar Team), who claimed both the stage victory and the overall race lead. Yara Kastelijn (Fenix-Deceuninck) finished second on the day.

With today’s result, Longo Borghini now also sits third in the General Classification, 1:43 behind the new leader Reusser.

The entire UAE Team ADQ squad delivered an excellent team effort, working in full support of Longo Borghini throughout the stage.

Notably, Paula Blasi, the young Spanish rider from UAE Team ADQ, was a key protagonist in the day’s breakaway. She held her position at the front of the race until just before the start of the final climb, playing a valuable role in easing the pressure on her teammates in the peloton.

Stage 3 covered a total distance of 95 kilometers, starting from Valle de Valdebezana (Soncillo) and finishing at the summit of Espinosa de los Monteros (Picón Blanco).

The race will conclude tomorrow with the fourth and final stage: a short individual time trial of 9.41 kilometers from Villasana de Mena to Lezana de Mena.
