The final stage of the Giro d’Italia Women 2025 – the 134 km Forlì to Imola route finishing at the iconic Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari – crowned Elisa Longo Borghini once again. The UAE Team ADQ captain claimed the overall victory for the second consecutive year, confirming her status as one of the strongest and most complete riders on the international stage.
The rider from Piedmont managed every moment of the race to perfection, thanks to the constant, intelligent, and selfless support of her teammates. From the first stage to the last, UAE Team ADQ raced as a true unit – protecting their leader and approaching every phase of the race with strategy, strength, and a collective spirit.
In the final stage, won by Liane Lippert (Movistar Team), Longo Borghini stayed in control and crossed the finish line knowing she had completed an achievement that will go down in team history.
In the final general classification, Elisa Longo Borghini finished with an 18-second lead over Marlen Reusser (Movistar Team) and 1’11” ahead of Sarah Gigante (AG Insurance – Soudal Team). A prestigious result that reflects both personal determination and an exceptional team effort.
Elisa Longo Borghini said: “This victory means a lot, especially because I was coming off a spring season where the results didn’t go as hoped. We managed to reset everything and prepared for the Giro as a shared goal for the entire team. Months of hard work and sacrifice led to a perfect week where everyone pushed themselves to the limit to support me. I think the best example of that was the stage in Monselice, where we launched a team attack in a stage that, on paper, had nothing to offer. On the podium, I got emotional because of the warmth shown by the fans. Seeing that people appreciate me not only as an athlete but as a person means a lot and motivates me to keep improving. It’s such an incredible emotion to win the Giro d’Italia again. I dedicate this win to the team — they were amazing in every single stage. We raced united, determined, always with a common goal. This victory belongs to all of us.”
For UAE Team ADQ, this triumph marks a new chapter in the young yet ambitious history of the team in women’s international cycling.
