La Vuelta Femenina kicks off with a TTT in Barcelona

The 2025 edition of La Vuelta Femenina began with an 8.1 km Team Time Trial through the vibrant streets of Barcelona. A solid performance from our riders saw them stop the clock at 10 minutes, showcasing great teamwork – an essential ingredient for the stages to come.

Erica Magnaldi, Maeva Squiban, Lizzie Holden, Greta Marturano, Alena Ivanchenko, and Lara Gillespie rode at an average speed of 48.550 km/h. They finished 30 seconds behind stage winners Lidl-Trek, who took the win in 9:30. Ellen van Dijk claimed the first red jersey of this year’s race.

Team SD Worx – Protime secured second place, while Liv AlUla Jayco rounded out the podium in third.
