Stage 2 of La Vuelta Femenina offered no respite for the peloton, with rain and crashes turning the 99 km route from Molins de Rei to Sant Boi de Llobregat into a challenging and unpredictable battle.
Our riders fortunately managed to stay upright throughout the stage, avoiding the numerous crashes that occurred, particularly in the final part of the race. However, the slick roads and repeated pile-ups in front of them forced them to stop multiple times and chase back, ultimately causing them to lose contact with the front group at the most decisive moment of the day.
The stage was won by the ever-reliable Marianne Vos (Team Visma | Lease a Bike), who sprinted to victory ahead of Letizia Paternoster (Liv AlUla Jayco), who now takes over the race lead.
Despite the setbacks, our team remains motivated and ready to fight in the upcoming stages, with more opportunities still to come in this edition of La Vuelta Femenina.
