Sofia Bertizzolo claimed a strong 10th place today in the sprint finish that decided the first edition of the Copenhagen Sprint. She was the only rider from our team to remain in the leading group and used all her experience and tactical awareness to secure a spot in the top 10.
The race was won by European Champion Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Worx – Protime), who outsprinted Elisa Balsamo (Lidl – Trek) and Chiara Consonni (CANYON//SRAM Zondacrypto).
The 151-kilometre race started in Roskilde and concluded with a fast and technical finishing circuit in the heart of Copenhagen. It was a tense and nervous day in the peloton, marked by several crashes and relentless pace that caused the bunch to split into multiple groups in the final kilometres.
Sofia Bertizzolo was the only one of our riders able to stay with the front group and navigated the chaotic finale in the best way possible to come away with a top 10 result.
