Tour des Pyrénées – Stage 1 Report

The Tour Féminin International des Pyrénées opened today with a 112.6 km stage from Arzacq-Arraziguet to Barbazan‑Debat, featuring undulating terrain but no major climbs (693 m total elevation gain)

Ally Wollaston of FDJ–SUEZ took the win in the sprint, followed by Eline Jansen and Margot Vanpachtenbeke.

UAE Team ADQ controlled the peloton early on and rode well, supporting a strong lead-out train in the finale. In the closing kilometres, Brodie Chapman and Domonika Wlodarczyk worked hard to launch Karlijn Swinkels, but she was unable to match the pace of the top contenders in the final kilometre .

The team’s sprint train unraveled at the final roundabout, costing them positioning and momentum ahead of the finish.

Tomorrow’s Stage 2 climbs to the summit of Col du Soulor, promising a tougher test and opportunities for GC contenders. UAE Team ADQ will aim to build on today’s effort and stay active at the front.
