The Setmana Ciclista Valenciana kicked off today with a 112 km stage from Alzira to Gandia. Dutch rider Demi Vollering, making her debut with FDJ-SUEZ, secured a solo victory after an 18-kilometer breakaway, finishing 30 seconds ahead of Marlen Reusser (Movistar Team) and Anna Van der Breggen (Team SD Worx – Protime).
The first chasing group crossed the finish line 1’30” later, with Elisa Balsamo (Lidl-Trek) sprinting to fourth place. Our riders, Paula Blasi and Brodie Chapman, finished tenth and eleventh respectively.
This result is particularly significant for the young Spaniard Paula Blasi, marking her first top 10 finish in the UAE Team ADQ jersey.
