Vuelta a Burgos Feminas: Longo Borghini 4th on Stage 1

The Vuelta a Burgos Feminas kicked off with an exciting and fast-paced opening stage, starting from the stunning Cathedral of Burgos and finishing in Poza de la Sal after 125 kilometers of racing.

It was a lively day in the saddle, animated early on by a breakaway that was eventually reeled in before the decisive climb. As the road began to rise, a select group of top contenders formed at the front, including a very active Elisa Longo Borghini, while others were forced to chase from behind.

In the final kilometers, the front group came back together, also catching the last escape attempt from two riders. UAE Team ADQ played a key role in the race dynamics, with strong support from Brodie Chapman and Silvia Persico helping to position Elisa for the finale.

In the uphill sprint, European Champion Lorena Wiebes claimed the stage win, with Elisa Longo Borghini finishing in a strong fourth place – both on the stage and in the General Classification.

A promising start for the team, with more exciting racing ahead in the coming days!
