Stage 2 of the Vuelta a Extremadura Femenina, from Quintana de la Serena to Valdefuentes (114.8 km), saw a strong performance from Maeva Squiban, who finished fifth and successfully defended her lead in both the Points Classification and the Sprint Classification.
A solid ride also for Greta Marturano, who crossed the line in seventh place and holds onto third in the General Classification. Meanwhile, Paula Blasi remains the best Spanish rider in the race.
The stage victory went to Norway’s Mie Bjørndal Ottestad (Uno-X Mobility), who sprinted to success from a reduced group of around twenty riders. Ellen van Dijk (Lidl-Trek) retains the overall leader’s jersey.
