The wind proved to be an extra adversary in Stage 3 of La Vuelta Femenina, a 132.4 km route from Barbastro to Huesca.
It was another tense day in the peloton, marked by multiple crashes and several splits caused by crosswinds. Despite the challenging conditions, Lara Gillespie, Erica Magnaldi, Maeva Squiban and Greta Marturano showed grit and determination, managing to stay in the main group.
The stage came down to a sprint among the front group, with Dutch rider Femke Gerritse (Team SD Worx – Protime) taking the win and moving into the overall race lead. Marianne Vos (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) finished second, while Linda Zanetti (Uno-X Mobility) claimed third place.
