Once again UAE Development Team conquers a Top 5 and once again sprinter Sara Fiorin achieved a good result.
After taking third place in stage 2 of the Baloise Ladies Tour today stage 3a was staged. This time Sara Fiorin finished fourth on the finish line in Zwevelgem (Belgium).

Due to a group crash after 10.9 km the race was neutralized for more than 50 minutes. For this reason the organization decided to remove the local lap and shortened the stage from 94.7 km to 66 km.

Fortunately, the girls led by Davide Gani and Giuseppe Lanzoni were not involved in this crash and were able to race without any problems.
Once again the race ended in a bunch sprint: Lorena Wiebes won by putting her own wheel ahead of Charlotte Kool and Daria Pikulik. Sara Fiorin's fourth place proves that Sara can be a strategic rider in stage races as well, because being able to be among the best in the group after three days of racing is a fact that shows her physical and mental resilience.

The UAE Development Team's racing style was also very good. At the start were once again Elisabeth Ebras, Beatrice Caudera, Karolina Kumiega (UAE Team ADQ) and Anastasia Carbonari (UAE Team ADQ). The recipe of mixing World Tour Team athletes with the Development Team is definitely effective, as it allows important growth for the young athletes and gives an opportunity for the more experienced riders to find their shape.
