Canadian rider Olivia Baril was one of the revelations of the 2022 season. She will wear the jersey of UAE Team ADQ for the next 2 years.

Canadian rider Olivia Baril was one of the revelations of the 2022 season. Wearing the Valcar - Travel & Service jersey, she took the first win of her career at the Gran Premio Ciudad de Eibar in Spain, won the young classification at the Tour de Suisse Women and came close to another victory in the second stage of the Itzulia Women. From the 2023 season, she will wear the jersey of UAE Team ADQ for the next 2 years. Approaching her 25th birthday, Olivia Baril is an accomplished athlete with strong individual and team spirit skills.

For several years now, she has moved to live in Europe to pursue her dream. Signing with UAE Team ADQ allows her to enter into World Tour and to take a step forward in her career.

Olivia Baril, with great enthusiasm, explains what led her to this choice: “I'm super excited to join UAE Team ADQ because it is a team which offers me the best environment to continue to progress with the right support. I strongly believe that you must surround yourself by people who can uplift you and who believe in you and those people are for me in the UAE Team ADQ. I am convinced that with the current resources, the skills, the sports management and the riders, the team will become the best female World Tour team in a few years. UAE created the best men's teams, so I’m confident they will do the same in the women's team in a short time”.

Cycling has given her great satisfaction this year and Olivia also has clear ideas for her future: “I worked on physical and the mental aspect a lot. Cycling is a very demanding sport and if you can't find a balance in your head, it becomes impossible to have a long and happy career, so that is my main goal”.

UAE Team ADQ General Manager Rubens Bertogliati said: “Olivia Baril, after a very good start to the season, had a very unlucky second half, but she showed that she has ability and tenacity and that she knows how to work for the team. She was also able to take personal satisfaction in very demanding races. She is a very determined girl and will certainly be a great help to our team and a great support for her teammates”.
