Karolina Kumiega (7th) and Tereza Neumanova (9th) delivered strong performances with top-10 finishes in the sprint that decided the second stage of the Tour of Chongming Island, China.
The 129-kilometer stage saw excellent teamwork, with Anastasia Carbonari and Eleonora Gasparrini executing a brilliant lead-out to set up the sprint. Kumiega retained the Polka-dot jersey as the leader of the mountain classification.
The stage began at Changxing Island Country Park and concluded at Chongming New City Park.
Throughout the day, multiple breakaway attempts animated the race, but the peloton consistently kept them in check.
In the final kilometers, the group came back together, setting the stage for a mass sprint. The team's coordination was evident, with Gasparrini and Carbonari providing invaluable support during the chaotic sprint finale.
At the end of the day, Poland's Karolina Kumiega once again donned the Polka-dot jersey as the leader of the mountain classification.
Marta Lach (Ceratizit-WNT) won the stage, her teammate Mylène De Zoete keeps the GC leader jersey.
