The UAE Development Team has announced the confirmation of Emirati cyclist Zahra Hussain as the ninth and final member of its 2025 roster.

The UAE Development Team has announced the confirmation of Emirati cyclist Zahra Hussain as the ninth and final member of its 2025 roster. At 23 years old, Zahra is gearing up for her third season with the team, after the one-year contract extension, and is a standout product of the Emirati Talent Program.

Benefiting from the experience gained racing alongside seasoned teammates in Europe, she has shown significant potential and growth. Over the past two seasons, Zahra has had the opportunity to train and compete in Europe, where she further developed her skills. Notably, this year marked her debut on the cobbles of Belgium, racing in the Egmont Cycling Race Women and the Grote Prijs Yvonne Reynders.

Her most notable results of the season include a silver medal in the time trial and a bronze medal in the road race at the UAE National Cycling Championships.

Zahra expressed her excitement about the renewal, saying, “I’m truly happy and thrilled to continue as part of the UAE Development Team family for another season.”

Reflecting on the impact of the team on her growth, she added, “Being part of the UAE Development Team means a lot to me, as they’ve given me the chance to grow both as a cyclist and as a person. Working with them has pushed me to keep improving as an athlete, and I hope to become a valuable rider for the team.”

Looking back on her past season, Zahra remarked, “This season went well. I learned so much and gained valuable experience that has shown me the path I need to follow to become a successful cyclist.”

Eager for the season ahead, she concluded, “I can’t wait to start the new year. I know it will be amazing, and I look forward to taking on the challenges of the 2025 season, training, racing, and cherishing every moment with my teammates and the entire team.”
