Amazing sprint victory for Chiara Consonni in the second stage of the Giro d'Italia Women.

After 110 km of the race from Sirmione to Volta Mantovana, great work by the entire team, which gave its contribution to close in on the breakaway and then lead Chiara in the final. 

Perfect and powerful was her sprint with which she overtook world champion Lotte Kopecky in a comeback. 

Chiara also wears the red leader's jersey in the Points Classification.

After the victory Chiara Consonni said: "I am very happy for this victory. I knew it could be the right day for me, but there were many other strong riders here and it's never easy to win. But today my teammates did a fantastic job for me. I got on Lotte Kopecky's wheel in the finale, waited for her to launch the sprint and then took off and caught up. I knew I was OK, I had good feelings and I'm happy that I managed to win again here at the Giro". 

Also present in Italy to celebrate Chiara Consonni's victory was UAE Team ADQ president Melissa Moncada and some representatives of the main sponsor ADQ who came from the United Arab Emirates to whom the team wanted to give an unforgettable day. 

Tomorrow, third stage of 113 km from Sabbioneta to Toano, with the first uphill finish.
