Yet another victory for UAE Team ADQ, which celebrated today with Karlijn Swinkels winning the St. Feuillien Grand Prix de Wallonie in Belgium with an overpowering sprint. For the Dutch rider – a great protagonist this season with numerous podiums – it was the first victory with the UAE Team ADQ jersey.

It was the second victory in three days for the team of president Melissa Moncada, which had already won on Sunday with Eleonora Gasparrini at the GP Stuttgart.

The race started in Blegny and finished in Namur, covering 139.36km, and saw the Emirati team very active.

First Alena Amialiusik did well to get into a five-woman breakaway with Ilse Pluimers (AG Insurance - Soudal Team), Brodie Chapman (Lidl-Trek), Nina Buijsman (FDJ-Suez) and Alison Jackson (EF-Oatly-Cannondale). Breakaway cancelled at kilometre 116.

In the finale, Gaia Realini (Lidl-Trek) made a lonely attempt, but the UAE Team ADQ riders helped close the gap and control the situation in the final kilometres.

Then, in the finale, Karlijn Swinkels was extraordinary, staying with the best on the climbs, then exiting the final corner first and making a full-gas sprint that allowed her to leave behind Elisa Longo Borghini (Lidl-Trek) and Anouska Koster (Uno-X Mobility).

Satisfied with the victory Karlijn Swinkels: β€œThe girls did an amazing job today. Everyone was committed to the day's plan. The only thing I had to do was to try to stay calm and play my cards right in the final. I'm happy to have completed the girls' work in the finale in the best possible way!”
