Chiara Consonni has secured another Top 10 finish at the Konvert Koerse.

After finishing fourth in the Egmont Cycling Race Women and sixth in the GP Lucien Impe, Chiara Consonni has secured another Top 10 finish at the Konvert Koerse.

This time, the Madison Olympic champion stepped up her game and claimed second place in the final group sprint won by Sofie van Rooijen (VolkerWessels Women's Pro Cycling Team).

"Today, we wanted to finish the race with a sprint," said Chiara Consonni, "because we couldn't manage it in the last two races. My teammates did an excellent job, trying to break away and then deciding to keep the race controlled in the final five laps. 

The leadout was perfect, but unfortunately, I lost Sara Fiorin's wheel. I finished second, but I'm still happy with this podium. Lastly, I would like to thank the UAE Development Team's sports director, Davide Gani, for managing the race perfectly."
