Safiya Alsayegh at the Asian Road Championships

UAE Team ADQ's rider Safiya Alsayegh will return to wear the jersey of the Emirati national team for the Asian Road Cycling Championships.
UAE Team ADQ's rider Safiya Alsayegh, the first Arab WorldTour rider, will return in the next few days to wear the jersey of the Emirati national team for the Asian Road Cycling Championships scheduled in the Rayong area of Thailand.
It is one of the most important appointments for Asian cycling and the Emirati athlete is returning after the bronze medal she won a year ago in the Women's Under-23 ITT race. This season Safiya has already reconfirmed herself as National Road and ITT champion and in recent weeks has chosen Spain as a training ground to hone her condition ahead of the important appointment in Thailand.
Safiya Alsayegh will make her debut at the continental event on Saturday 10 June with the 30-kilometre individual time trial (ITT) for Women Elite and Women Under 23 with start and finish at Dok Krai Reservoir. The start of the first competitor is set for 10am local time (GMT+7).
The Road Race, also for Women Elite and Women Under 23, will take place at the same location on Monday 12 June, with a 109-kilometre route designed over two laps of a 23-kilometre circuit and the final 63-kilometre straight stretch to the finish line at Rayong Provincial Sports Stadium.
