First sprint today at the Simac Ladies Tour, in the second stage of 154.8km from Coevorden to Assen.

First sprint today at the Simac Ladies Tour, in the second stage of 154.8km from Coevorden to Assen. Good teamwork and seventh place in the sprint for our Irish sprinter Lara Gillespie.

Karlijn Swinkels picked up points in the KOM classification and the whole team worked hard, including some cobbled sections.
The peloton closed in on the day's breakaway with just over a kilometre to go when the battle between the fast wheels of the peloton opened up.

The winner was the Dutchwoman and European champion Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Worx - Protime).
