The 2024 cycling season wrapped up with an exciting final race at the Tour of Guangxi, the last event on the UCI Women's WorldTour calendar.
The competition was fierce, and the course proved more demanding than usual in China, featuring a challenging climb to be repeated four times over a total distance of 134.3 kilometers, with the start and finish in Nanning.
The demanding terrain set the stage for a breakaway, with Karolina Kumiega showing great determination to stay at the front. Later, another small group, including Eleonora Gasparrini, managed to bridge the gap, bringing more contenders back into the race.
In the dramatic finale, two riders broke away and reached the finish line ahead of the pack, where Sandra Alonso (Ceratizit-WNT Pro Cycling Team) out-sprinted Italy’s Giada Borghesi (Human Powered Health) to claim victory. Behind them, in the sprint for the first chasing group, Eleonora Gasparrini took a solid tenth place, while the ever-determined Karolina Kumiega finished just behind in eleventh.
And with that, the 2024 season comes to a close. It has been a year filled with ups and downs, but also with extraordinary moments of dedication and teamwork. We thank all our riders, staff, and supporters for their commitment throughout the season. Here's to an even more exciting 2025!
