With the opening ceremony along the Seine River, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will officially kick off today.

UAE Team ADQ will be represented by seven athletes at the Summer Olympic Games in France who will take part in the Individual Time Trial, Road and Track cycling events.

This is a historic moment and a new milestone in the growth of UAE Team ADQ and the cycling movement in the UAE. In fact, Safiya Alsayegh will participate in the Road Race and will be the first female cyclist in the history of the UAE to take part in the Olympic Games. The completion of a journey that started from afar with the support of the entire team and sponsors who believed in this project. Further pride is then to have such a consistent number of other girls participating in the greatest sporting event on the planet.

The first to compete, already on Saturday 27 July, will be Slovenian Eugenia Bujak, who will take part in the individual time trial.

On Sunday 4 August, the streets of Paris will host the road race where the following athletes will line up at the start: Safiya Alsayegh (UAE), Silvia Persico (Italy), Eugenia Bujak (Slovenia), Anastasia Carbonari (Latvia), Alena Ivanchenko.

From 5 August, the track races will also start, where Chiara Consonni (Italy), Lara Gillespie (Ireland) and the young Sara Fiorin (Italy), an athlete of the UAE Development Team, will be competing.
